Network data cabling is installed within a data centre's structure, hence the term "structured cabling". The cabling follows the kinks and wiggles of a buildings shape to get from one area to another to transmit data between nodes on the network. The cabling can be made from copper or fibre, depending on distance and speed requirements. Currently, a data centre can't exist without structured cabling, wireless technologies can't keep up with the huge demand for bandwidth and network efficiency.
